and Christmas is this week!

Ok Connor first! He's huge! Over 22 lbs haha.. he's eating everything he can get his hands on lol. Yesterday we had the cookie tin filled with cookies from my mom on the floor no where near him, I went in the kitchen to put a pizza in the oven for gabby, and he got into the cookie tin and flipped it over.. and was covered in powdered sugar! He didn't get any cookies tho! He loves pasta and zuchinni and sqaush and mango and everything else we put in front of him! He just started crawling this week. It's too cute but i'm totally not ready to baby proof my house. STAY A BABY! He's growing up way too fast for me. It's so sad when I drop him off at the gym daycare and he could care less that i'm leaving the room lol. He just wants to play play play! He LOVES the gym and all the ladies who play with him while I get my butt kicked in the gym :) He has become quite the little screamer. He loves peek a boo. He also loves his hands! When he gets excited he flails them all over the place its too funny and embarassing in public haha.

Our wedding was PERFECT! Everything that day went so well and everything was BEAUTIFUL! And it flew by! Oh man, I miss that day! It was great.. the best quote of the day (other than i do lol) came from my neice Kyla, our flowergirl! The girls were all drinking champagne in the limo on the way to the wedding and Kyla had sparkling apple juice and she looked at me all serious and said "you're not going to tell my mumma I have this right?" It was PRICELESS! All and All a wonderful day and it was nice to run away with shawn for a couple days just us! We really needed the sleep lol!

So i'm working on my master's degree at OU. It's tough with Connor and it's going to probably take me 4ish years.. but it will be worth it in the end! One semester down.. a ton more to go!

Our condo is for sale. We've outgrown it already and it's WAY too far north for me. I drive to lake orion literally EVERY day. My parents, work, gym, and school are all there so i'm ready to move! We'll see if anyone bites.. Maybe we'll throw everyone a curve ball and move somewhere warm.. who knows the world is our oyster.. whatever that means!

And, Connor's first christmas is this week! He's gone to see santa and loved it. He's also done alot of christmas shopping with me and even helped wrap presents. He ripped the paper twice while i was wrapping my moms gift and i had to start over each time! Such a good helper! I'm so excited to watch him open his gifts from santa!

And now there is THREE of us :)

So, I haven't updated since before Conman was born. Shame on me. We've been SUPER busy!

Connor was born April 28, 2009. I TOLD ALL OF YOU that he was coming in April.. haha. He was 8lbs 5oz and almost 21 inches long! Big boy. We had alot of visitors in the hospital. My mom, dad, Steve, Lenka, Lilly, Gabby, Danielle, Dana, Kathy, Barry, Sharon, Thomas, Kyla, Nick, Shannon, Bridgette.. WOW. It was hectic and it made the whole experience a bit chaotic. NEVER AGAIN will we tell people that i'm in labor. It's nice to know that Con had so many people anxiously awaiting his arrival tho. Once we got home things started to settle down. We didn't get much sleep for a while there but we managed to get through the days (and nights) just fine.

Connor went to his first wedding when he was only 4 days old! We took him to the ceremony and he was excellent. Then I took him home for my parents to watch him. That lasted about an hour and I was home to pick my little guy up. I really do not like leaving him with anyone other than mommy and daddy.

At his first doctors appointment he was almost back to his birth weight and the doctor said he was doing great. He had to get poked with just one shot that day. A week later I took him back and he had reached his birth weight so we didn't have to go back until his one month appt. At his one month appt Dr. Haddad said he was doing great once again. We had his 2 month appointment last Thursday and Con weighed 14 lbs and was 24 inches long! He's healthy and growing everyday! He also had one more shot and started his rotovirus vaccine. We are going to wait until he's 1 year to do the other vaccines.

Connor has done so much in his 10 week life so far. He's been to the mall probaly 10 times! He likes shopping with Mommy! He's even been to the zoo even tho he slept the entire time.

At 2 weeks old, Connor had his second wedding! His Aunt Shannon married his new Uncle Frank. Connor now has three Uncle Franks and a Grandpa Frank lol.. I was able to leave him at home with my mom and Lenka for the reception. It's funny how much earlier weddings end when you have a baby at home :)

Con went to his first parade in Clio a couple weeks ago and learned how to do "jump on it". It is HILARIOUS!!! We need to video tape him "dancing".

Connor also went hiking for the first time with mommy and daddy a few weeks ago. We went to the state park by our house for a nice sunday hike. We also had Sharon, Thomas and the kids there to celebrate memorial day with a cook out.

We have moved Connor out of our room and into his crib. It seems to be working out ok, he just doesnt sleep as long as he used to when we would grab him from his bassinet in the morning and put him in bed with us. He LOVES sleeping in bed with Daddy.

Connor's current favorite activities: EATING, being naked, bath time (because he's naked), looking at his monkey mobile, watching tv with Daddy, drooling uncontroably, smiling at silly mommy and daddy, and hanging out in his giraffe bouncy chair. He's just starting to like the baby "gym" but doesn't like to lay there very long. He also enjoys walks in his big boy stroller so he can look around.

Connor's current dislikes: Sleeping, long car rides, mommy and daddy taking too long to make a bottle, his swaddle when he wakes up, shots, and gas drops.

He is now working on grabbing things with his hands. He has pulled the ring on his giraffe chair to play the music a few times. The other morning he kicked his aquarium with his foot in his crib and the music started in the morning. It was funny to hear that over the monitor.

I'm now back to work :( and Con stays home with Daddy all day. I'm not liking this at all and once I get the nerve to talk to my boss i'm leaving here. I used to love Lansing and how my job felt important and now I feel like my more important job is at home. I'm so jealous of Shawn being home all day. I can't wait to be home all day again. We got spoiled while I was off of work. It was so nice to get so much more done during the day. I really don't like driving an hour and a half to work then back everyday to go home to cook, clean the kitchen, do laundry and wash bottles then get connor in the bath and fed and in bed. It makes for a really long day. I love when Shawn takes care of most of that while i'm at work!

So the wedding is exactly 2 months from yesterday! SCARY! Me, my mom, Gabs, Kathy, and Sharon all got together yesterday to put together the invitations and make all of the labels. the invitations will go out sometime this week! My matron of honor, my aunt tracy, flies in from New Jersey this Thursday for my bridal shower this weekend!!! I cannot wait.

Oh and lastly we went tubing on the rifle river on friday for my birthday and had a BLAST!!!! Thank you for coming everyone!

Playing the waiting game..

So we are 38 weeks and 4 days pregnant now.. it's not very much fun at all anymore. The end seems no where in sight. I found out Sunday that I haven't begun to dilate at all yet so that's good news (yeah right)! My Dr. said yesterday that she won't let me go more than one week past my due date. THANK GOD.. but if i did go one week past my due date I would be in the clear to go to Randi and Luke's wedding, but I would be pretty much out of commission for Shannon's. We will just have to see and pray that he comes in the next couple of days so that I can make it to his sisters wedding. I would hate to miss that one, I love my dress, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will be one of those pregnant women who lose a ton of weight right when the baby is born so that it fits..

So it's been 41 days since our last ultrasound where he was 5 lbs 8 oz.. which means that if he was on track gaining half a pound a week that means he's around 8 lbs 7 oz.. please let that be wrong!!

Other than that no news really. Shawn had his diaper party on Saturday and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We got a lot of diapers so that should hold us over for a little while. I was concerned that we won't have enough new born diapers, but if he's as chubby as we think he is then he should fit into the size 1's just fine. We have a TON of size 1's!! Thank you to everyone who came!!

Also, thanks to Gabby who has been around a lot lately hoping that she will be here when I go into labor ha ha.. she's making the time pass a bit faster and her beating me in scrabble yesterday is simply beginners luck!

RIP SUCKER FISH

So the whole time we were in Florida we were worried that our fish would die due to not being fed for 8 days. We have 4 goldfish and 1 sucker fish. We didn't even think about the temperature in our house changing so drastically due to the fact that we turned our heat completely off not thinking that we would get SNOW while we were gone. That's Michigan for ya..

So when we got home last night we came home to half frozen fish huddled in the corner of our tank.. Shawn went into fish doctor mode immediatly before even getting our bags out of the car!! He took out half of the icy water and added warmer water to literally thaw out our fish! So it slowly worked for our goldfish and they are now alive and back to thier old selves. Sadly, we went to bed last night with high hopes for the sucker fish since he was moving around quite a bit and sucking on the walls again rather than laying frozen on the bottom of the tank, but when we woke up this morning he was dead. POOR LITTLE SLAVE FISH.. he cleaned our tank well and he will be missed..

Other than that, we went to the wedding planner today and picked out our invitations and planned our tables and decor. I can't wait to see it all come together.

FYI Shawn's Daddy Diaper Party is on April 18!! Pizza, beer, and a PARTY! woo hoo...

So me and Shawn had a nice walk on the beach today and as we were walking to the car we were passing a 7-11 so I decided to run in and get a slurpee. First the guy at the counter said "now make sure you drink that very slowly, you're going to give your baby a brain freeze!" okay weirdo. Then, the lady behind the counter said "you look like you're ready to pop! when are you due?" So, I replied "May 2." AND SHE HAD THE NERVE TO SAY "you have 4 more weeks to go and you're already so big!" UGH UGH UGH!

I'm sick of being big!!!!!

Upside of being pregnant-Kathy ran out the to store today while we were just sitting around and came back with Cheetos and a ped egg for me.. you know those things to exfoliate your feet! She knows the way right to my heart!

We're in FLORIDA!!

SO we're in Florida.. we've been here since Tuesday night!! The first couple of days were cloudy and rainy but yesterday the sun came out and sure enough my doctor was right about my skin being much more sensitive since I'm pregnant! Of course I didn't listen to her and now I'm sporting a sunburn on my legs, arms, and chest!! Today was absolutely gorgeous here and I couldn't sit out in the sun for very long without covering up my legs or going inside! Oh well..

We've just been doing the usual things down here. We've gone to JB's, the beach, Bostons, the Bowery, Chick-fil-a, and me and Shawn have gone on a couple bike rides. Oh we also went to a chocolate factory up in Daytona that smelled sooooo good! Just our luck tho, right as we went to park, a bus load of retirees were dropped off at the factory! Other than that we've played scrabble and battleship and watched movies. It's been very relaxing. I even took a nap the other day. That doesn't happen too often. Last night we went to get ice cream and watch the rocket launch. I couldn't believe that we could see it all the way up here in New Smyrna but we could. The sky got bright in the distance, then we saw it shoot into the sky and it looked like it was heading right for us, then it started to look like a shooting star and slowly disappeared. Pretty cool to see tho!

Connors new favorite game is laying across my ribs. I can't sit back in a chair without him doing it. It got so bad yesterday while we were sitting out in the sun that I had to get up and walk around to wiggle his little butt down a bit. He's also going through caffeine withdrawls in there since I didn't do so great avoiding caffeine while i've been pregnant so he's taking it out on my insides I believe. We decided it's probably best to get him used to not having caffiene while he's still inside rather than him screaming his head off due to Coke withdrawls later on.. I'm trying to get used to caffiene free pepsi, but it's just not the same.

So, we just have a few things to do when we get home to get ready for Connor to come home. We have to pack the hospital bag, stock up on diapers, pick his coming home outfit, and clean my car and install his carseat. Other than that we should be all set. I'd like to give our house one really good cleaning before he comes home also. We're really excited for him to come home!! 4 more weeks!

So I haven't done a very good job keeping up with the whole blogging thing.. but since i've got a ton of time on my hands these days i've decided to start up again.

Little update-We are now 34 weeks and 4 days pregnant! He is going to be here before we know it! According to what I read on the internet, he's over 5 lbs! We had our final ultrasound last week and here is a picture of our little one! I love his little lips!!

Connor Edward Hale!!! Due May 2, 2009!

We had our baby shower 2 weekends ago and we had a really good turn out! Thank you to everyone who made it out and for all of the wonderful gifts! Connor is one spoiled little boy already! Thank you Kyla for being our designated photographer! (Even tho Shawn won't admit it, he had fun at the baby shower too!!)

We had a dr's appointment last friday and found out that i'm not dialated yet which means we can go to Florida next week! We are leaving Tuesday for a whole week! We haven't been there since last February so it's well over due! We cannot wait to lay on the beach all day every day!

Connor's room is almost done! The walls are painted and the paneling is up! The furniture is all up and his clothes are washed. We just need to hang the curtains and blinds, set up all the crib linens (the crib is set up for Lilly right now who has been a frequent visitor which we love), and swap out the light fixture. Then we need to get Shawn's tools out and hang his name on the wall and it will be done and ready for him to come home! We cannot wait! Hopefully he won't be a Florida baby!

Our New Home!!

We have officially moved and spent our first night in our new condo!! I love it! We decided to move on the coldest day of the year, not our best decision, but we got it done. Thank you to my parents for spending the entire day with us, to Corey for helping Shawn move everything, and to my dad for the surf and turf dinner he said I "deserved" after such a long day! I'll take lobster any day for any reason!

Friday was a snow day at work, so I drove through the snow for two hours from Lansing to Oxford to go hang out at my parents house because I had nothing better to do. Again, not a great decision, but I made it. So I hung out there all day, went shopping with my parents for Shawn's christmas gift (which he is going to love) and ended up staying the night since Shawn had to work this Saturday. Saturday we cleaned the condo and got it all ready to move in, cleaned carpets, washed floors, the whole bit. I am so happy with the way it turned out. We are truly lucky to own such a nice place at such a young age! I know I say this every post but I will get pictures up as soon as I can. I really am bad at taking pictures.

The baby is now over 1 pound and it's amazing to feel him moving around in there. He has a sleep pattern all set already which is pretty regular when i'm at work 5 days a week but it gets all thrown off on the weekends because i'm up and moving alot more. When I run up the stairs, he wakes up and kicks me for awhile! I still can't believe how big i've gotten so fast. It really is amazing! We are still playing the name game with him, but we found one we both really like this weekend. We'll see...

Moving

We are so close to moving I can't even stand it!

I'm so happy with the way the condo is turning out. The kitchen and great room look absolutly fabulous with the colors Shawn and I picked out.. well to be fair, Shawn picked out the great room color because he didn't take the paint chip I chose when he went to buy the paint, but regardless, it looks great! We are just waiting for the two upstairs bathrooms to be painted, ours is a light yellow cream color and the baby's is a bright blue that I love love love! I never thought I would be decorating in blue.. but I guess we always knew it would be a boy! I'm kind of being anti blue except for the bathroom. We picked out the bedding and everything for his room and it's lime green and monkeys so I was able to avoid the blue :) The monkey's are SO cute!

I just scheduled my first prenatal massage for tonight and i'm really excited to go. My back has been driving me crazy for a while and has gotten pretty worse in the past day or so since my doctor decided to mess with it yesterday morning. I wish doctor's would listen to me when I tell them about my back. They act like I haven't gone through all of the hoops before, chiro, physical therepy, surgery (sigh), and more physical therepy. Let alone all of the pain pills and muscle relaxers. Which, yesterday he offered me muscle relaxers and I told him no. While I would love a muscle relaxer to sleep, i'm not going to drug up our little man. We will wait for the birth to do that to him!

I'm planning a surprise little party for Jessica tomorrow in our office. She's 37 weeks!! I put it on our schedule as an office meeting and her old office is going to sneak through our back door and be there too! We have a senate employee's holiday party tomorrow and i'm going to sneak out early to set up Wayne's office for her party!! Little Jack will be here so soon and we want to make sure we get her the gift we bought as an office before she pops! Hopefully I'll take some pictures which i'm really bad at.. i'll put Deb on camera duty! I have to run home and make cup cakes tonight before my massage appointment! It will either go smoothly or turn into a disaster.. that's usually how it goes when i'm in the kitchen. Which reminds me of the time I made brownies at Shawn's parents house... and there were flames coming out of the oven.. goood times! That almost beats the time that Randi helped me surprise Shawn with dinner one day after work, and I made him Fettuccini with peas because he loves it and we put the whole soup packet in the sauce instead of like a quarter of it like the recipe said.. it smelled really good but the taste was SO strong.. oh well, i'm learning.

And, I wanted to post my bridemaids dresses on here because me, Danielle, and Gabby are all in love with them!! I can't wait to order them. I have such beautiful bridesmaids!

20 Weeks

I am officially twenty weeks and half way done with my first pregnancy! What a relief! It's amazing how much bigger I have gotten just in the past 2 weeks. I went from being chubby with a little pouch to being full blown noticably preggo! I even had to buy my first few pairs of maternity pants last week. It was hard to find the maternity section in JCPenny's but I found it eventually upstairs away from all of the normal clothes in the Womans Big and Tall section. That made me feel SO GOOD about myself and my quickly growing body! Anyways, I bought the pants and was able to avoid the ones that go up to your chest so that's good and i'm sure Shawn is grateful because those are really unattractive.

Shawn was so excited that he started jumping all over the room and we were high fiving and stuff. Very exciting moment! It was nice to see that our little one has already discovered that he is a boy as we got to see him playing with himself the entire time, then he picked his nose, and looked right at us and scratched his head. We truly do have a little man in there. I'll put those pictures up as soon as I get to a scanner. We had a hard time getting a profile of the baby because he liked to look right at us or bury his head so that we couldn't see.. stubborn baby!

We also purchased one of the condo's that we had looked at the day Shawn proposed. We haven't moved in yet because of all of the painting that needed to be done and we need to get the carpets cleaned but i'm really hoping to wake up Christmas morning to our own house and our own tree. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we will be in this weekend. I will add pictures of our new little home once it is all finished!

I had a doctors appointment today and he said the baby looks perfect on the ultrasound and all of the organs are developing right and are where they should be. Heart Beat was 152 today!

The past few days are a blur..

Friday was my first ultra sound and I was really happy that Shawn was able to come with me. So, after drinking a ton of water we headed to the hospital. It was the most amazing experience of my life. As soon as the ultrasound tech put that wand thing on my belly we could see our little peanut. We were shocked to see that it actually looks like a baby already!! We could see the little legs kicking around and the hands were clasped together in front on it's face. We could also see the facial profile. We were able to hear the heartbeart which was amazing at 163 beats per minute! And the baby is just over 2 inches, or about 4 centimeters. I cried.

On Sunday we met up with my parents and looked at 8 condos and were able to narrow it down to two. I think we've made a decision on which one were going to go with. We'll see. So later that night, Shawn proposed. It was perfect. His whole family, along with my parents and Lilly were all there and I was completely surprised. I'm so proud of him!

So, wedding planning has begun. We have booked the club for September 5, 2009. We're working on guest lists and I really would like dueling pianos at my wedding. I think it would be a really unique touch. Saturday me and danielle are going dress shopping which should be fun!

And, I should be working right now...

Random Acts of Kindness

Sometimes we forget just how nice some people really are in this world. I think it has to do with the people that you choose to surround yourself with. Last night I was at the Whiskey Barrell for line dancing lessons with Rachel, Katie, Leah, and Alyssa who are all girls I danced with in high school and I went up to the bar to buy a bottle of water (since i'm pregnant :) ) without cash assuming that I could use my debit card. Well, I couldn't and I really needed water. As I stood there thinking of a random drink I could buy Rachel that would make my bill over 5 dollars which should have been easy but hey I haven't bought a drink in 3 months, the girl next to me said "i've got hers". How nice is that?

So today I parked at Sparrow Hospital to get my blood work done not thinking that I would have to pay to park. I had been waiting in an emergency room atmosphere, had a bunch of blood taken from my right arm, and had to have looked stressed because I pulled up to the booth the pay the man, again assuming he took debit, he let me though without paying. Another random act of kindness in 2 days.

Which means that I owe 2 random acts of kindness to the world..

Today was also my first doctor's appointment which I have nothing to report about other than I am officially pregnant and my due date is May 2, 2009. I haven't seen a doctor yet, but my first ultra sounds is tomorrow night which i'm excited for since Shawn is able to be there. Should be exciting! My first real doctors appointment will be at the end of the month. I'll keep you posted!

First Timer

So, I haven't blogged since high school. Back then it was about friends and boys and who knows what else. Wow, life sure has changed since then.

Let's see. I graduated from Oakland University in May and my life has been turned upside down ever since. I moved to Lansing the day after graduation to begin 2 internships which ended up getting me a job doing scheduling for a Senator. Since starting in June i've been promoted and am now clerking the education and judiciary committees on top of doing all of the scheduling. I've settled in to my new office in the back even though sometimes it's pretty lonely.

Shawn is continuing his education at Northwood University and plans to finish up in December of next year. He was so lucky to have spent a good amount of time in Europe this past summer. He began a new job today and we are so excited to see how that turns out. I'm excited for him.

Now for the biggest news of all. We are nine weeks pregnant! We have known for 6 weeks and we are dying to tell everyone!! I am thrilled to be a mother. It's just one of those things that I feel like I was born to do. It's been pretty touch and go since we found out. I have good days, and I have bad days. It seems like the more sleep I get, the less sick I am the next day. But, I feel like i'm sleeping my life away! My first doctor's appointment is next Thursday, October 9 and I absolutly cannot wait. I hope I get some pictures taken to put on here. I hope Shawn is able to come with me even though he just started his new job. All of this is so surreal. Sometimes, I don't feel pregnant it all. Other times, i'm sick as a dog. I cannot wait to meet the baby.

Right now is really hard for me and Shawn because i'm in Lansing and he is in Flint. Sometimes I would give anything to have him here when i'm sick and need him here. Our number one thing right now is being able to live together. We're in the process of finding someone to take my place in my condo with Rachel which she's not happy about. Then we need to find a place for us and baby to live. It would take alot of stress off of my shoulders to know that we have a settled home to bring the baby home to. We're not quite sure if we're going to rent or possibly buy a condo. Shawn is going to look at a condo this weekend for us. I would love to be settled. It would be a commute to Lansing though. I want to be closer to my family also because I want them to be a big part of the baby's life. I'm just hoping that everything will work itself out. I want to decorate the baby's room and our home. I'm looking forward to so much. I cannot wait to get started.
